2007 BES Investment Opportunity

Introduction

The cost of all forms of energy is rising, and there is no likelihood that this will change. Domestic energy bills, of which space and water heating comprise 80%, are expected to rise significantly in coming years. In addition, world awareness of the CO2 /Global Warming issue appears finally to have been accepted as a critical problem. The world is urgently looking for ways to become more energy efficient and to reduce CO2 levels. This is confirmed by the significant growth in sales of "green" technologies in the Home Heating market.

Tochar Technology is a new Irish technology company established to develop innovative products and solutions for this market. The Company's product suite will centre on Control Systems that greatly reduce central heating cost and help generate energy efficiencies in the home, significantly reducing the "Carbon Footprint" of homes where they are installed.

Tochar Technology is now giving individuals the opportunity to invest in the company through a Business Expansion Scheme. The Business Expansion Scheme gives individual investors the opportunity to make tax efficient investments by allowing them offset their investment against taxable income (subject to various conditions and up to an annual limit of €150,000).

Further information on the Business Expansion Scheme is available from The Revenue Commissioners here.

Tochar's Product - ECO Home Manager™

ECO Home Manager™ is the first offering in a range of products that will be developed by the company in the coming years. ECO Home Manager™ is a sophisticated control centre for domestic central heating and water heating systems.

The majority of central heating systems installed are equipped with some sort of timer system that allows them to switch the boiler and immersion on and off at specific times of the day. However these generally tend to be of a fairly cheap and ugly appearance, are difficult to understand and use and are often tucked away in some inaccessible cupboard or outhouse. They can be particularly difficult to use for older people or people with less than 20/20 vision. The combined effect is that people do not configure the systems correctly and as a result, their heating boiler operates for longer - and burns more energy - than is needed.

ECO Home Manager™ addresses this situation in 3 ways: Design, Ease of Use and Advanced Technology.

Sales & Marketing Strategy

The Sales and Marketing strategy in the first phase of the company's development will focus on developing relationships in Ireland and the UK within a number of channels, but particularly with the distributors and with boiler manufacturers. In the early stages the company will work with "friendly companies" to acquire reference sites and customers who can then be used as reference points in discussions with potential partners. The "friendly companies" are local manufacturers, distribution companies and installers who have agreed to help the company in this trial phase. It is planned to secure the first of these sites within the first 5 calendar months of 2008, with a view to securing orders for the final product in the last calendar quarter of 2008.

2007 BES Funding

Funding of the first phase of growth, comprising the current 'proof-of-concept' development phase has been provided for via seed capital from the company founders. The next phase of growth - for which funds are now being raised - will see the company initiate product trials and engage with various channel partners both in Ireland and the UK.
